Who stole my cheese? Why brands are more likely to hire influencers than athletes.
Stanisław Grabowski, Managing Partner w EssenceMediacom
Jarosław Dejneka, Managing Partner w EssenceMediacom

Today it isn’t easy to find an advertising campaign without the participation of so-called Influencers.

Budgets that would once have been spent, for example, on a brand “ambassador” (face) – a well-known actor or athlete – now go to digital creators. In addition, the development of social media platforms and the data they provide has increased the value of influencers in decision-makers eyes.

Someone with a million “followers” and great “engagement rates” will undoubtedly significantly impact consumers.

It turns out that… not necessarily!

Why do influencers descend on athletes in advertising?

  • What is the behind-the-scenes process involved in selecting celebrities to work with brands?
  • How vital is quantifiability, and what happens when only some are represented similarly?
